Living on the Edge – Surviving at High Altitudes

The high mountains provide a special habitat for a number of animal and plant species. Relatively few are able to survive for long in these harsh conditions above the forest line. Thanks to audio-visual and other aids such as rock puzzles, as well as images and videos, visitors can experience something of "life on the edge" for themselves.

The Bearded Vulture’s Learns to Fly

If there are hatchlings again this year, the young bird can be observed from a respectful distance during wing training in the nest as part of a guided hike.
