The contest is organized by the Stelvio, Gran Paradiso, Abruzzo-Lazio-Molise and Vanoise National Parks with the support of Alparc (Rete delle Aree Protette Alpine - Alpine Network of Protected Areas) and Federparchi. "La Rivista della Natura" is the competition's media partner.
Now in its seventeenth edition, the photo contest "Fotografare il Parco" now represents one of the most eagerly awaited and prestigious events on the international scene. Landscapes, animals and plants of the protected areas become the protagonists in the photos in the competition, which not only denote the high technical ability of the authors, but also imply a marked sensitivity and an unusual ability to observe the natural environment.

The competition is divided into four categories:
- Park Landscape
- Park Wildlife
- Park Microcosmos and Natural Details
- Park Plant World

The winners of the 17th international "Fotografare il Parco" competition have been announced. Over 380 photographers took part and more than 2700 photos were submitted.

In addition to the category prizes, special prizes were awarded this year:
- the prize for the photo that best depicts the interaction between people and the environment
- the prize for the photo showing an ecological crisis
- for the first time, there was also the "People's choice" audience award
Due to the high standard of the photos submitted and the difficulty of determining a ranking, the jury nominated eleven further images that were characterised by their quality and beauty.
