Snowshoe Hiking in the Stelvio National Park
The snow-covered landscapes of the Ortler Region
On the numerous summits exceeding 3,000 m in the Ortler Region, lie an extensive network of well-marked snowshoe hiking trails, mountain tracks and secluded paths. From the trails around Sulden/Solda, are spectacular views of the Ortler Massif, as well as the Sesvenna and Ötztal Alps. All this provides snowshoe hikers with an unforgettable winter holiday experience.
Trafoi is another useful starting point for snowshoe hiking through the forests of the Stelvio National Park.
In the unique Martelltal/Val Martello and Ultental/Val d’Ultimo valleys, are some of the most stunning snowshoe hikes in the Alps. The solitary winter trails in this side valley of the Ortler Alps, lead through winter forests up to the wooden refuges. The Lyfi Alm shelter looks out on the breathtaking winter mountains from an altitude of 2,165 m.
