Route description

The final leg of the Marble Circuit Trail is sometimes also referred to as the “Royal Stage”, bringing you over the impressive Madritschjoch pass at an elevation above 3,123 m. From Sulden/Solda, head to the Schaubachhütte mountain hut, where refreshment services and accommodation are available. To return to the Marble Circuit Trail, continue to the Madritschhütte mountain hut (also with accommodation) and then down to the Zufallhütte hut. This final stretch from Sulden/Solda across the Madritschjoch pass requires a high degree of fitness and surefootedness. In return, one is rewarded with breath-taking views of the Ortler Alps and glaciers straddling the Zufallspitze and Cevedale mountains. The descent to Martell/Martello provides the true highlight of this final stage, from which the boundless splendour of this region can be truly appreciated. The sixth stage marks the end of an unforgettable 80 km hiking adventure through the world of white marble. With numerous high peaks, glaciers and its native flora and fauna the Marble Circuit Trail offers the unique opportunity to experience this spectacular mountain area at first-hand.
